Special Event Permits are required where an Applicant is requesting of the City of Brandon that a road be closed temporarily to hold a public event.
Where a road is temporarily closed for an event, proper street signs and barricades are required and must be requested by way of a Sign Use Agreement Form. A completed Sign Use Form must accompany your Special Events Permit application.
As per City of Brandon Fee Schedule for Street Barricades & Signs, a Refundable Deposit of $250.00, in the form of a certified cheque made to the City of Brandon, is required for all street signs and barricades loaned from the City. Should all street signs and barricades be returned to the City in the same condition, the deposit will be returned to the Applicant.
Street signs and barricades shall be obtained from the Civic Works Complex. The coordination of drop off and pick up of such street signs and barricades shall be made with the Manager of Public Works or their designate.
Prior to issuance of a Special Events Permit, the required fee of $50.00 is due and payable as per the City of Brandon Fee Schedule.
Payment of any additional fees respecting such authorization as determined in the sole discretion of the TAAC as same may pertain to each individual application.
